Restoring Habitat in Clark County’s Green Spaces
The Clark Public Utilities StreamTeam has been a leader in community volunteer-driven environmental stewardship and conservation for more than 30 years. Our volunteers work to reduce impacts on our environment by restoring important local riparian habitats through the planting of native shrubs and trees. StreamTeam is led by a team of utility employees and supported by the dedicated group of employee and community volunteers.

StreamTeam’s Impact
Our StreamTeam program proactively addresses the problems facing our local watersheds. Since the voluntary program began in 1992, more than 1,000,000 trees and counting have been planted to restore approximately 120 acres of land along 12 miles of stream length in the Salmon Creek and Lewis River watersheds. We’ve also installed 10 miles of livestock exclusion fencing, two miles of bank stabilization, and removed tons of garbage—literally!—with the help of dedicated people like you.
Today, StreamTeam’s restoration and stewardship has expanded into additional urban habit areas, including Columbia Springs at the historic Vancouver Trout Hatchery.

Maintenance
The trees we plant have an 85 percent survival rate thanks to the StreamTeam’s careful planting methods and continued maintenance after plants are in the ground.

Columbia Springs
Clark Public Utilities is a long-time partner of Columbia Springs and the Historic Vancouver Trout Hatchery.

Educational Outreach
Our StreamTeam provides meaningful hands-on environmental activities while educating community members.
